I was familiar with the phrase Chann Pardesi, because it was the title of a Punjabi film that released in 1981.
But I did not know
what Chann meant, so I looked it up.
It is Punjabi for,
“Lover”, and Pardesi, of course, is a person from another place.
The soundtrack of Goodbye
contained a song of the same name.
It was the third-longest
of the three tracks from the film in my collection – it was four minutes and 10
seconds long.
Swanand Kirkire
wrote the song, which was composed and sung by Amit Trivedi.
