Sannata – which could be translated to, “Silence” – was a word popularised by the veteran character actor A K Hangal via his iconic dialogue from the cult 1975 film Sholay, “Itna sannata kyon hai, bhai?”
Forty-nine years
later, an unrelated Sannata was the second song from JNU: Jahangir
National University.
It was rendered
by Sonu Nigam, who was joined behind the microphone by Supriya Pathak and
Lakshay Sharma.
The song, which
was written by Rajesh Manthan, was composed by Vijay Verma.
The quartet of chorus
singers comprised Santosh Bote, Rahul Chitnis, Sagar Lele, and Vivek Naik.
