“Oh my God, another recreated version?”
If that was
anybody’s reaction upon listening to Mera Dil Gaaye Ja (Zooby Zooby), I don’t
blame them, because I’m no fan of recreated songs myself.
The original was an
Alisha Chinai solo from Dance Dance (1987).
And the recreated
version, aptly, was from Dhokha: Round D Corner.
While Anjaan’s
lyrics and Bappi Lahiri’s tune was retained from the original, the remake – obviously
credited to Tanishk Bagchi – featured additional lyrics by Kumaar.
Zahrah S Khan and
Yash Narvekar sang the song, which was three minutes and 37 seconds long.
