People of a certain vintage who grew up listening to the state-run broadcaster are familiar with Jhumri Talaiya, which is a town in the present-day state of Jharkhand.
The second song on the soundtrack of Gauraiya Live
was Jija Jhumri Talaiya.
It was, in fact, the longest of the four songs from
the film in my collection – it was four minutes long.
As was the case with Dhyaan Dijo, Seema Saini’s
involvement in this track wasn’t restricted to composing it, but she wrote it
too.
The lady who lent it her voice was Suvarna Tiwari.
